"My spiritual work is designed to bring each Seeker into their own power by awakening and keeping
lit the Divine Spark within."
"I am a first year graduate student at the University of Illinois
at Urbana-Champaign in the College of Education. I founded PSA in September of last
year and assumed the position of President for this, our first, year. I came to Paganism
in February 1998 as a young woman and have been an avid Seeker since then. Within my
personal philosophy, I believe that the Universe (Existence, Nature, the Earth, Humanity, etc.)
is vast and is comprised of many forces, influences, and potentials. We, being a part
of the Universe, are connected to, in conversation with, bounded by, and exalted in
those myriad forces, influences, and potentials. I hope to spend the rest of my days
exploring the Mysteries inherent in that sacred dance. On a more general note, I am
quite social. As such, I enjoy group ritual but practice solitary as well, and am always
interested in networking with other Pagans!"
The Pagan Students Association (PSA) at the University of
Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) was founded in September 2007 to support
Pagan/Neo-Pagan students on campus. PSA is the first Pagan group to exist on
campus in almost 10 years. The association has a four-fold mission. PSA meets
students' needs by providing a safe and open space for the discussion of Pagan
beliefs and practices, offering educational programs to raise understanding
and awareness of Pagan beliefs and practices across campus, building community
through both formal and informal social events, and aiding spiritual growth
and development by coordinating rituals and rites throughout the academic year.
David Spellsinger has been a spiritual leader, seer, and healer
in the pagan community surrounding the Illiana area of both NW Indiana and Illinois for over 25 years.
Irish-Cherokee by decent, he began studying both Shamanism and Druidry with his grandparents,
who instilled in him the desire to combine his eclectic spiritual path as part of his lineage.
This has never left him, and he has branched out to include Daoism (studied under Sifu Li Chi Keung)
and Servicer Wicca (with Myranda Arcane). He has attained the rank of both Master Sifu and Wiccan High Priest.
David believes that there is truth in all paths and this has led to the
founding of Daoshadru. He currently serves as the High Priest of the Daoshadru Grove,
leading open circles, teaching classes and seminars; as well as working as a reader
and teacher to the Illiana area. "I am open to teaching those with an open mind."
Jenn Mayes is a practicing Asatru from the Kalamazoo, Michigan area, where she lives
with her "amazing" husband, Travis and three dogs. Jenn's involved in the local Pagan Pride Day as

and Grove Fellowship Chorus.
"I am very, VERY proud of them, and as the director, I get all kinds of bragging rights!
But the fact is that these artists deserve it. They have been working, and continue to work, so extremely hard
at becoming a fantastic ensemble. My personal goal is to see our way into the bi-annual Sacred Music Festival
held in Kalamazoo, and as things stand I think we have a very good shot at getting in. Music has always been
a tremendous part of my life, and I'm so happy to find a place to bring that music back out again."

"I believe that Deity is present in every person, therefor every person is
inherently their own Clergy -there is no need for an outside Spiritual intercessor. The most
important altar is the altar of ones own heart. The only real reason to have a formal Clergy
to help people to be better Clergy in their own lives and to prevent them from putting unnecessary
limitations on their view of Deity or themselves."
Rev. Rose Wise has been a practicing Wiccan and Goddess worshipper since 1980.
Rose has a Masters in Business Administration, a nursing certificate, and is a Reiki Master Healer.
She is the founder and High Priestess of Ozark Avalon, a magickal land and Wiccan Church in Central
Missouri. Rev. Wise is also ordained by Ozark Avalon, as well as being recognized as a third degree
High Priestess in the more traditional Nine Roses coven. With her partner Sage James, a small group
of on-site caretakers, and a great church community, she lives a magickal life- caring for the land,
teaching classes, and organizing spiritual retreat festivals.
Rose actively promotes Pagan Community though Mid-Missouri Pagan Pride, and Hearthfires
Pagan Alliance. She is was the Local Coordinator for Mid-Missouri Pagan Pride Day during its first four
years and continues to serve as programming and publicity chairperson for the 6th annual event, which
promotes religious tolerance. She was also a founding member of the Hearthfires Pagan Alliance of
Mid-Missouri, which serves as an educational and networking focus for area Pagans. Rose has performed
many handfastings and is looking forward to her own Handfasting with Sage on July 4th at Ozark Avalon.
