Luncheon and Symposium: Noon to 4:00 p.m.
Cafe Borgia ~ PRIVATE DINING ROOM ~ Munster, Indiana
"The Cauldron of Change: the Role of Wiccan Clergy”
Arch Priestess HierophantIn 1979, Deena became a member of Earthstar Chicago Lodge, receiving her Earth and Water initiations there from Herman Enderle. In 1984 she joined the Society of Janus in Elgin IL, a Pre-Gardnerian Craft coven. She received her first craft degree from Linda Dice, HPS. She was ordained a Priestess of Hekate of the Fellowship of Isis by Lady Olivia Robertson in 1993.
High PriestessRegina is the High Priestess for Sacred Spirit Temple. She is also Coordinator for Pagan Pride Day since 2004. Regina is a participating member of NIPA, (Northwest Indiana Pagan Association), and founder of the Witch Hat Society.

Our annual custom is to honor a community Elder, during a *special* luncheon, held in the spring. Since this is our third spring event, it seems only right to honor the memory of three Illiana-area High Priestesses: Linda Batwinski (NW Indiana), Vicky Carlson and Donna Cole Schultz (Chicago, Illinois). Their devotion to Paganism in general and firm commitment to Wicca in particular, inspires the theme for our symposium.
Our featured speakers, Deena Hartray-Butta and Regina Stovall, knew Linda, Vicky, and Donna. They'll touch upon facets of the role of Wiccan clergy, and how it affects the general Illiana community-at-large during their presentation and general discussion.
MODERATOR: LISA LEDGER * WICI Board Elder and Co-Founder
A few discussion aspects will be:
* How did these three Priestesses impact Wicca in our community?
* Has the role of clergy - for both female and male - changed since their passing?
* How is Wiccan clergy viewed in the community-at-large?
* Is the "coven-trained system" still a viable approach?
